ASSOCIATION

The JustPeace Association unites the Alliance, the Expert Forum, the Hubs, and the Lab in one organisation. Here, the general lines of cooperation are defined, and key decisions taken.

The Association is independent, impartial and neutral. It is not profit-oriented. Its statutes provide actors from the Global South with a central role. Through this, JustPeace breaks with persistent colonial structures in international cooperation that materialise in unequal distribution of power and prevent inclusive projects.

GOVERNANCE

The owners of the Association are its members. These are mainly civil society organisations (CSOs) from the Global South, which have specific veto rights, and individual experts from around the world.

The main organs of the Association are the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, and the Auditors. Like all JustPeace entities, the Association operates with lean management and administration.

ACTIVITIES

The Association promotes exchange and cooperation among its members. It supports their fundraising and raises funds for its own purposes, such as research projects.

While keeping a critical distance, the Association may also discuss strategies and policies of international organisations, states, or other actors, and cooperate with institutions and organisations that pursue similar goals.

INDEPENDENCE

The Association will be registered as a non-profit organisation in Geneva, Switzerland.

As an independent organisation, the Association receives funds from a diverse array of donors that support various aspects of the Association’s work. This diversity in funding strengthens the Association’s independence, ensuring that it is not influenced by any one donor, political or interest-based organisation.
